Daun Ferguson Biography
From Paris to Miami, the Caribbean to the White House, Daun Ferguson combines her role as an influential trendsetter in the world of hair and makeup with far-reaching philanthropic projects.
Born in the Bahamas, Daun is a licensed cosmetologist with more than 20 years of experience in the beauty industry. She owns Turning Heads salons, located in Miami, FL and the Caribbean.
Daun launched her exclusive cosmetics line, Daun Cosmetics®, while working as a technician for McBride Research Laboratories. As a certified instructor and facilitator in conjunction with the laboratory, she conducts regularly-scheduled seminars for aspiring makeup artists.
Based in Miami, FL Daun is a recent recipient of the Beauty Schools of America Lifetime Achievement Award. She has worked as a celebrity hair and makeup artist for several local and international publications including Salon Domaine Style and Hairbook, Mazza International and New York City-based Paper magazine.
She has worked in the U.S., Europe and the Caribbean, serving as chief hair/makeup and image consultant for a variety of stage productions and photo shoots. She was also lead hair and makeup artist for the First Lady Summit hosted at the White House, Dr. Bobby Jones International gospel retreat, and the BET Network’s SOS – Haitian Relief telethon. Her clientele has included numerous entertainment figures including R&B artist Lauren Hill and reality television star Kim Kardashian.
Daun reaches out beyond the beauty industry through her philanthropy that includes For the Love of You, a Miami-based, non-profit organization that provides mentorship, scholarships, and programs about self-esteem and self-awareness to youth in foster care.
The goal of the non-profit is imparting a message of girls recognizing both their inner and outer beauty. She has expanded her efforts to Windsor Girls Home in Ocho Rios, Jamaica where she donates hair care products and conduct self esteem classes for young girls. For the past several summers, Daun Cosmetics has traveled to Bimini, Bahamas, and Jamaica conducting her Beauty ‘N Basketball tour.
